Client documents

The client's documents, in without the chasing.

A checklist sized to the loan, a portal for the client and another for their accountant. Everything uploaded is read with its page references, and the fact find is pre-filled for the client to confirm.

A checklist sized to the loan

The list follows the loan type and size, so a $500,000 working capital facility doesn't ask for what a $4m acquisition needs. The bigger deal doesn't miss anything.

  • Size bands under $1m, $1m to $3m and over $3m
  • Two or three years of P&L, balance sheet and tax returns, BAS, bank statements and the ATO account
  • ID and a statement of position for every director and guarantor who signs
  • Forecasts, aged debtors and creditors and a group chart where the deal needs them

A portal for the client, another for the accountant

The client sees what's outstanding and uploads from any device. Their accountant gets their own link to the financial items only, never the fact find or the client's personal papers.

  • The client and accountant each upload against the checklist
  • The accountant sees only the financial statements, returns and BAS
  • Late items become chasers in your morning brief, drafted for you to send
  • Virus-scanned on upload and stored in Sydney

Read with page references

Financial statements, tax returns and BAS are read as they arrive, and so are the papers commercial credit asks for. Every figure carries its page and the words it came from. Nothing changes until you accept it.

  • ATO integrated client account: balances, payment plans and every dated line
  • Notices of assessment and personal statements of position
  • Aged debtors and creditors, and existing loan statements onto the debt schedule
  • Each figure accepted by you, with its source kept

The fact find, pre-filled

Purpose, track record, key customers and suppliers and the challenges ahead. Batonford pre-fills what the documents and your meeting notes already say, each answer with its source, and the client confirms the rest.

  • Upload a meeting transcript and get the loan details and next steps drafted
  • Pre-filled answers stay proposals until the client or you confirm them
  • A business purpose declaration and privacy consent for each signer, signed in the portal
  • A purpose that looks personal or residential flagged before the declarations go

Before you ask

Questions about client documents.

Do we need the client's Xero or MYOB login?
No. The client or their accountant exports the reports and ledger from whatever software they use and uploads them. Batonford never touches their books.
What does the accountant see?
Only the financial items on the checklist and what they've uploaded. Not the fact find, the declarations or the client's personal papers.
Are the declarations legal advice?
No. They're wording for the client to sign, kept with a signing record. Have your own lawyer or aggregator confirm the wording suits your firm.
