Who we are
'We', 'our' and 'us' means Risk Monitor Pty Ltd, the company that operates Batonford. It's registered in Australia (ABN 52 158 218 994).
This policy explains what personal information we collect through the Batonford website (batonford.com) and when you contact us, how we use it and the choices you have. If you have questions, email hello@batonford.com.
The Batonford platform
Business brokers use the Batonford platform to manage their listings, buyers, sellers and deals. The contacts, businesses and deal records a brokerage loads into the platform belong to that brokerage. We process that information on the brokerage's behalf and under our agreement with them, not under this policy. If you're a buyer or a seller and have a question about information a brokerage holds about you, please contact that brokerage.
What we collect
When you request a demo or early access. Our forms ask for your name, work email, the firm you work for, how many brokers it has, the country you sell in, the system you use today and anything else you choose to tell us.
Where your visit came from. When you send a form, we include the page you first landed on, the website that referred you and any campaign details in the link you followed. That can include UTM tags and the click identifiers that Google, LinkedIn or Meta add to an ad link. We use this to see which of our ads and pages bring useful conversations.
How you use the website. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are visited and how people move through the site. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your IP address, device, browser, approximate location and the pages you view.
Advertising. We use Google Ads conversion tracking and the LinkedIn Insight Tag to measure whether people who click our ads go on to request a demo or early access. These set cookies that Google and LinkedIn use to attribute the visit to an ad and may use to show you our ads elsewhere.
When you email us. We keep the emails you send us and our replies.
You don't have to give us any of this information. Without it, we may not be able to arrange a demo or early access for you.
How we use it
- to respond to your request and arrange a demo or early access
- to follow up about Batonford, including by email. You can ask us to stop at any time.
- to understand which pages, ads and campaigns are working, so we can improve the website and our marketing
- to keep the website secure and stop spam and abuse of our forms
- to meet our legal obligations
We don't sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run the website and handle your requests. They process information for us and only as we instruct:
- Google Cloud, which hosts the website
- Google Analytics and Google Ads, for website analytics and ad measurement
- LinkedIn, for ad measurement and to show our ads to people who have visited the website
- Twilio SendGrid, which delivers form submissions to our team by email
- our scheduling tool, if you book a demo time through it
- our email provider, for our correspondence with you
We may also disclose information to regulators, courts or law enforcement where the law requires it or to protect our legal rights, and to a buyer or investor as part of a sale or restructure of our business, under confidentiality obligations.
Where it's stored
The website runs on Google Cloud in Sydney, Australia, and our team works from Australia. Our service providers may process information in other countries. Wherever it is handled, we take reasonable steps to make sure it stays protected.
Your choices
- Cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. To opt out of Google Analytics, use Google's opt-out browser add-on. To control the ads Google shows you, visit Google's ad settings and your LinkedIn advertising settings.
- Marketing emails. Reply to any email asking us to stop, or write to hello@batonford.com.
- Access, correction and deletion. You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local privacy law, such as the right to object to certain uses. Email us and we'll help.
How long we keep it
We keep demo and early access requests, and our emails with you, for as long as we're talking with you about Batonford and for up to two years after our last contact. If you become a customer, we keep the records we need to run the relationship and meet our tax and legal obligations. Google keeps Analytics data for the period set in our account. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections to the website and restricted access to the inbox where form submissions arrive. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Children
The website is for businesses and isn't directed at anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy when our practices change and show the new date at the top. If a change is significant and we have your email, we'll let you know.

For any question or complaint about privacy, email hello@batonford.com. We'll look into it and respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the privacy regulator where you live. In Australia, that's the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
