For commercial finance brokers
A credit paper a lender can check.
Batonford reads the client's financials, BAS, ATO account and statements, finds the red flags before the lender does and works out serviceability. Then it drafts the credit paper with every figure cited and carries the deal through lenders, offers and settlement.
- Sourcedevery figure traced to its page
- Approvednothing goes out without you
- Alongsideyour aggregator's CRM and lodgement
A loan deal for Shah Hospitality's purchase of Harbourside Café: the documents read in September with the ATO account clear, the credit paper confirmed in October with every figure cited and each flag addressed, offers from three lenders compared on cost over the term and the $300,000 loan settled in November at a buffered debt service cover of 1.41 times, with the facility on the register.
Works alongside your aggregator's tools
Keep your CRM and lodgement. Add the deal work.
Your aggregator's CRM keeps the clients and the commissions, and lodgement stays where it is. Batonford does the work in between: the documents, the analysis, the credit paper, the lenders' questions and the conditions to settlement. No integration project.
See it on one of your deals- The client and their accountant upload through a portal, or you upload for them
- A lodgement summary with each field and its source, ready to copy across
- Finished papers, packs and CSV out, for whatever system you run
Sound familiar?
Most declines start before the lender sees the file.
Financials that don't reconcile, an ATO debt nobody mentioned, a paper that skips the weak spot. Batonford is built around the moments commercial deals stall.
How it works
One deal file, documents to settlement.
The evidence you gather from the client becomes the analysis, the credit paper, the answers to credit and the conditions to settlement. Nothing is typed twice.
A checklist sized to the loan and its type, a portal for the client and a separate one for their accountant. What's uploaded is read with page references, and the fact find is pre-filled for the client to confirm.
Revenue reconciled to BAS and bank deposits, BAS lodgement checked on the ATO account. Add-backs from the ledger on a lender's basis. Red flags listed, and serviceability worked out at a buffered rate with a rate sensitivity.
Bank, non-bank or discussion layouts drafted from the deal file. Figures are merge fields, every claim cites its source and every open flag is addressed. The client can confirm the facts first, then the pack is indexed for you.
Track each approach, share the pack in a watermarked lender room and answer credit's questions from the file. Term sheets are read and compared on cost over the term, with a report for the client that leaves the recommendation to you.
Conditions precedent, loan documents, security and funds drawn, tracked to the day. Once settled, the facility goes on your register with its maturity, fixed-rate end and review dates raised months ahead.

The red flags
What credit will ask, found first.
Batonford checks the file the way a credit analyst reads it. The BAS and bank deposits against the revenue, the ATO account for debt and lodgement, the drawings against the profit. Each finding cites its documents, so you can explain it in the paper rather than in a decline.
- ATO debt, payment plans and BAS lodgement gaps from the ATO account
- Losses, falling revenue or margins and drawings above profit
- Short trading history, a lease shorter than the loan and aged debtors
- A purpose that looks personal or residential flagged before the declarations go

Every morning
What's stuck, before it costs you.
Each broker starts the day with one list across every deal: documents overdue, lenders gone quiet, credit questions waiting, offers about to lapse, declarations unsigned and conditions coming due. The chasers are already drafted.
- Built by rule from the deal file, not guessed by AI
- A lender is quiet after five days, or after their own usual time to respond
- Chasers to clients, accountants and BDMs drafted for you, sent from your firm
- Ask the deal assistant anything about a deal and get the answer with its source

5 things need you
AI that shows its working
Your name is on the paper. So you approve it.
Batonford drafts and checks. You decide. It never says a deal will be approved or which lender to choose, and nothing reaches a client or a lender until you've read it.
Drafts, not decisions
No message is sent, no paper shared and no figure changed without your approval.
Every figure sourced
Each number cites the document and page it came from. Anything unsupported is flagged.
Stored in Sydney
Your firm's records are kept in Australia and walled off from every other firm in the database itself.
Never used for training
Your clients' financials are never used to train AI models. They're your firm's, not ours.
Made for Australian lending
The records Australian credit teams read.
Built around the documents a commercial deal in Australia actually runs on.
BAS and the ATO account
The integrated client account read line by line: balances, payment plans and which BAS were lodged.
Tax returns and assessments
Business and personal tax returns, notices of assessment and statements of position for each director.
Declarations
A business purpose declaration and a privacy and credit reporting consent for each signer, signed in the portal.
Leases and security
Lease term against the loan term, the security offered and each refinanced facility's payout tracked to settlement.
Built for Australian commercial lending: business loans, commercial property, cashflow and working capital, invoice finance, acquisition and development finance.

Onboarding founding firms.
We're working closely with a small group of commercial finance brokers in Australia. Founding firms get setup help, a direct line to the people building Batonford and a say in what comes next.
Before you ask
The questions finance brokers ask first.
- Do I have to leave my aggregator's CRM?
- No. Batonford works alongside it, with nothing to integrate. Your CRM keeps the clients and commissions. Batonford does the work on each deal, from the documents to settlement.
- Does it lodge the deal?
- No. Lodgement stays with your aggregator's platform. Batonford gives you a lodgement summary with each field and its source to copy across.
- Does it tell me which lender to use?
- No. It reads and compares what lenders offer and reports the figures. Which lender suits the client is your call, and the comparison report leaves that section for you.
- We're mortgage brokers starting to write commercial.
- The checklist, the checks and serviceability follow the same steps on every deal, so you see what a commercial credit team will look at before you send it. Your own judgement and your aggregator's support still matter.
- What kinds of loans does it suit?
- Business loans, commercial property, cashflow and working capital, invoice finance, acquisition and development finance. Asset and equipment finance isn't what it's built for.
- Who's responsible for the paper?
- You are, and Batonford is built for that. Every figure shows its source, every open red flag is checked against the paper and nothing goes to a lender until you approve it.
- Where is our data kept?
- In Google Cloud's Sydney region. Every firm's records are walled off from every other firm's in the database itself, not just in the app.
- Where does the AI run?
- Drafting and reading are done by Anthropic's Claude, which may process documents outside Australia. Only what a task needs is sent, it's never used to train models and the results are stored with your firm's records in Sydney.
- What does it cost?
- We're agreeing pricing with our founding firms now. Book a demo and we'll talk numbers for a firm your size.
